Terms of Use

Square 1 Staff(the “App”) is an internal tool provided by Square 1 Coffee Inc. (“Square 1,” “we”) to its current employees and contractors. These terms govern your use of the App. They are part of your employment relationship with us, not a consumer agreement.

Accounts cannot be self-registered. Square 1 creates and maintains your account; if you are not an employee or contractor of Square 1, the App is not intended for you and you should not use it.

The App lets you sign in with your work email, view your published schedule, request shift swaps, post and claim offer-up shifts in the Marketplace, request time off, manage your declared availability and preferences, and review your profile.

The App does not process payments and does not enable any in-app purchases.

You agree to:

• Use the App only for legitimate scheduling and employment purposes.
• Keep your sign-in code confidential and not share access to your account with anyone, including coworkers.
• Provide accurate availability and time-off information so schedules and approvals reflect reality.
• Not attempt to circumvent access controls, scrape data programmatically, reverse engineer, or interfere with the App’s operation.
• Not use the App to harass, defame, or otherwise harm coworkers, managers, customers, or third parties.

Sign-in uses a one-time 6-digit code sent to the email address on file for your employee record. Codes expire after 15 minutes. You are responsible for activity under your account; if you suspect unauthorized access, sign out and contact your manager or support@square1coffee.ca immediately.

Accounts are controlled by Square 1, not self-managed. Your access ends when your employment with Square 1 ends. To request changes to your personal information, or to ask about data we hold, contact your manager or email support@square1coffee.ca. Retention is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Square 1 may suspend or revoke your access to the App at any time, including on the last day of your employment, without notice.

Use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information.

The App, including its source code, design, branding, and content, is owned by Square 1 Coffee Inc. and protected by Canadian and international intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the App for the purposes described in Section 2.

The App is provided “as is.” Square 1 makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, except as cannot be excluded by Canadian law. The App is a scheduling tool — it does not replace direct communication with your manager about urgent or sensitive matters.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Square 1 is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We may update these terms when our practices change. Material changes will be announced in the App and, where we have your email address, sent to you by email before they take effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Alberta. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta unless applicable law provides otherwise.
